Chapter 8 Life or Death
Seeing the old man gradually recover, Oliver seemed to have relieved a heavy burden.
The medical staff present couldn't help but be amazed and praised Ramens' medical skills.
"Lord Thorne was at the point of no return, but under Sir Ramens' treatment, he was brought back from the brink of death in an instant. This medical skill is truly extraordinary!"
"I consider myself accomplished in the field of medicine, but compared to Sir Ramens, I am not worth mentioning!"
"..."
Hearing the admiration of the people around him, Ramens felt extremely pleased.
However, he waved his hand and said, "Treating the sick and saving lives is my duty. If there is nothing else, I will take my leave. There are still many patients in Arconia who need my treatment."
As soon as Oliver heard Ramens say he was leaving, he immediately tried to persuade him, "Sir Ramens, you have cured the old master. You are a great benefactor to our House Thorne."
"Quick, have someone book the entire top floor of Gourmet Enclave. I want to host a banquet to honor Sir Ramens!"
Oliver had been in the business world for decades and was skilled in social etiquette.
"Since Mr. Thorne is inviting me so graciously, I would be disrespectful if I declined."
Ramens was also astute and knew when to maintain his prestige and when to be humble.
The group walked out of House Thorne's villa and prepared to head to Gourmet Enclave.
"Isn't that Mr. D? You've been out for ages, why are you still lingering here?"
As soon as they stepped outside, the observant Macus noticed Logan standing at the villa gate, carrying a suitcase.
In response to the taunt, Logan leisurely replied, "Your House Thorne is too remote, I couldn't catch a taxi after waiting here for so long."
"Logan bastard, is that supposed to be amusing?"
"If you can't measure up to someone, you should be more humble, why are you pretending?"
Macus sneered, his face full of disdain.
"From what you're saying, that guy with the surname Lockwood must have already treated the old man, right?" Logan asked casually.
"Naturally, Sir Ramens has indeed treated him before," Macus replied.
"It only took a few minutes to cure the father," Macus said triumphantly, "unlike some people who only know how to talk big!"
Little did he know, Logan wasn't the least bit angry. Instead, he furrowed his brow and said, "The old man's illness is not as simple as it seems on the surface. The treatment from Mr. Lockwood is not a cure, it will only make his condition worse."
Upon hearing this, Macus was taken aback and then became extremely angry. "What nonsense are you talking about?"
"After Sir Ramens administered the needle, the old man's body immediately returned to normal."
"No matter how extravagant your words may be, I don't believe it."
Looking at Marcus's furious expression, Logan shook his head and said, "This is nothing but a temporary improvement. The old man probably won't last more than ten minutes."
Ramens, who had been smiling up until that point, immediately turned cold. "Young one, stop spewing nonsense!"
"Do you think you can easily speculate on my medical skills?"
Even Oliver, who had always treated Logan with respect, furrowed his brow and said, "Logan, I never expected you to be so narrow-minded. It's quite undignified to joke about an old man's life."
From addressing him as Mr. D to directly calling him Logan, it was clear that Oliver was truly angry.
"I have said my piece, believe it or not!"
Logan didn't bother wasting any more time with these people and turned and walked away. He came to House Thorne to treat the illness as a favor to someone, a gesture of loyalty. Since the Thornes didn't believe in him, there was no need to waste any more time here.
"What a clueless fool, this Logan bastard must be out of his mind!"
"He's simply saving face for himself. It's good that he's gone, at least it will be quieter without him."
"To dare curse the old man, he really has no idea what it means to die. If he knew he had offended House Thorne, it would be like stepping halfway into the gates of hell!"
The group of Thornes who had originally followed Ramens started to curse Logan in a flurry of voices.
"Mr. Thorne, something terrible has happened!"
"The old man's body suddenly started deteriorating, his vital signs are dropping rapidly!"
"If this continues, the old man won't be able to hold on!"
At this moment, Claude, who had been left inside to take care of Lord Thorne, stumbled out.
"What?"
Oliver's face changed dramatically as he looked directly at Ramens. "Sir Ramens! What is happening?"
Ramens, who had been so confident before, turned pale in an instant.
"Don't panic, Mr. Thorne, let me try another round of treatment," he forced himself to sound calm.
"It's too late, given the current condition of the old man, he probably won't last even ten minutes," Claude swallowed hard.
Upon hearing this, Ramens's face turned white.
Ten minutes?
Wasn't that the same as Logan's words...
Stard's words were absolutely accurate!
Could it be... that the old man really just had a temporary resurgence of energy?
If Lord Thorne really has any accidents, House Thorne wouldn't be able to bear the blame either.
"Logan, please stay!"
Upon hearing that his grandfather's time was running short, Oliver no longer cared about his own dignity.
He ran directly and caught up with Logan, stopping him in his tracks.
"What's wrong?"
Logan said without even lifting his head, showing no intention to pause.
"Mr. D, you can't let him die without trying to save him!"
"If I offended you just now, I am willing to kneel and apologize."
Saying that, Oliver ignored whether Logan agreed or not and directly knelt down on both knees.
"I've already said it, it's your own unwillingness to believe, don't blame others."
Logan's footsteps didn't stop, he continued to walk forward.
"Mr. D, please wait!"
"When my father was young, he fought for the country with all his heart."
"For the sake of his face as a patriotic general, please save his life!"
Oliver's eyes were filled with tears, and he looked sorrowful.
Logan stopped in his tracks and sighed softly.
Then, he turned his head and said, "Get up first before you speak."
"So... you agreed?" Oliver was overjoyed.
"To be blunt, I can't be sure."
"Whether he can be brought back to life or not depends on his own destiny."
Logan didn't finish his sentence.
"As long as Mr. D is willing to take action, regardless of life or death!"
Oliver stood up in great joy and made a promise.
"Alright, then I will give it a try."
Amidst the crowd's bustling, Logan returned to House Thorne once again.
Macus had an unpleasant look on his face, his heart cursing repeatedly.
Such a great opportunity slipped away just like that!
...
At this moment, various instruments in Lord Thorne's room were alarming frantically, completely chaotic.
The medical staff were at a loss faced with this situation, and the old man's body kept convulsing, with fresh blood continuously flowing from his mouth.
The situation was critical!
However, Logan quickly walked to the front of the old man, took out silver needles from a box, and arranged them carefully.
Without hesitation, he gently tapped the old man's lower abdomen with his right hand!
"Boom!"
A tremendous force emanated from his palm, causing the old man on the sickbed to shake continuously.
In an instant, black blood kept flowing out from his seven orifices...
