Chapter 3
After Leon said this, although the bodyguards behind Brandon didn't show it on their faces, they were very shocked inside.
Seeing the bodyguards' shocked expressions, Brandon said, "It's nothing. As long as he's willing to help the Corleone Family, I would even let him slap me."
Hearing Brandon say this, the two bodyguards were incredulous.
"Oh, you don't understand. The Corleone Family owes its hundreds of billions of dollars in assets to Leon's talents," Brandon explained.
"Really?" The two bodyguards widened their eyes in shock.
"Alright, you two leave. Let me talk to him alone," Brandon waved and said.
After the bodyguards left and closed the door, Leon said directly, "Brandon, have you considered my demands?"
Brandon said seriously, "Leon, to be honest, I have one more request. I hope you can return and take charge of the Corleone Family again."
Leon decisively refused, "Sorry, I'm not interested."
"Alright," Brandon said helplessly, "Then I hope you can lend me 20 billion dollars."
Leon said in surprise. "20 billion dollars?"
Brandon felt very embarrassed and said, "Leon, I understand your feelings, but the Corleone Family is in a very bad situation right now. Either you take charge of the family or lend me 20 billion dollars. If you agree, I am willing to meet all your demands."
Leon said helplessly, "Brandon, I don't have that much money."
"Leon, don't think I don't know that your offshore accounts have billions of dollars. Are you really going to watch the Corleone Family go bankrupt? Don't forget, your last name is also Corleone," Brandon said emotionally.
Speaking of this, Leon sneered, "Brandon, four years ago, I contributed so much to the Corleone Family, yet you kicked me out. Now you're coming to me again, don't you feel this very ridiculous? Back then, I've been living with the Herman Family, despised by everyone, with a status lower than the Herman Family's servants. Did the Corleone Family ever care about me?"
Brandon was silent for a moment, then said, "Leon, I know you're still resentful towards the family. But this time, as long as you're willing to help, I promise to make you the chairman of Corleone Investment Bank. How about that? I sincerely hpe that you can help the Corleone Family."
Although investment banking was not the most important industry in the Corleone Family, it held shares in many startup companies. As long as these startups successfully went public, the value of the investment bank would soar.
Leon considered for a while. If it were two days ago, he would have definitely refused.
But considering Steve's appearance, his thoughts changed.
So in the end, Leon agreed, "Alright, that's the deal."
Steve breathed a sigh of relief. "That's good, as long as you agree, I'll take care of the rest. You need to come to the company tomorrow, and of course, I'll arrange for someone to buy the Cullinan you wanted."
With the matter settled, Leon got up to leave. He noticed a set of expensive suits hanging on the coat rack and stopped to say, "Brandon, do you mind lending me this outfit?"
Tonight, his classmates were having a gathering. Leon had originally planned to buy a decent outfit after meeting Brandon.
Since Brandon had clothes here, he didn't need to buy them.
Brandon generously agreed, "No problem, suit yourself. It's a classic Chanel."
Leon didn't hesitate, changed into the clothes, and left.
After leaving the villa, Leon was filled with anticipation for the evening's gathering.
Because he knew that Liana Porter, who had once been the most popular girl in their class back then, would be attending.
On the way, Leon's pickup truck was blocked by Caitlin's mother, Samara Herman, who was driving a Ferrari.
Samara was that kind who paid great attention to her appearance, so even though she was middle-aged, she looked very young, as if she were only in her thirties.
Leon greeted her proactively.
Samara questioned, "Leon, where did you get this outfit?"
Leon was usually quite afraid of Samara, so he answered lowly, "A friend lent it to me."
"Friend?" Samara sneered and said, "Leon, I already know what you did on the yacht. You're such a useless person, you'll end up harming Caitlin! Go pack your things and divorce Caitlin!"
Hearing Samara's words, Leon immediately said, "Samara, you can't say this. I love Caitlin, my feelings for her are genuine."
"So what?" Samara sneered and said, "Leon, you're just a loser. What right do you have to be Caitlin's husband? Steve just called me. As long as I allow him to be with Caitlin, he will give us a mansion worth $3 million! Do you know what $3 million means?"
"Damn it, Steve again!" Leon clenched his fist and gritted his teeth. "Samara, I will never leave Caitlin. This is our marriage, and you have no right to say anything."
After saying that, Leon started his pickup truck and drove away.
Samara was in a rage and wanted to flip the pickup truck over. But there were many cars on the road, so she had to hold back and drove away as well.
After lunch, Caitlin and Steve returned to the company.
At that moment, the receptionist said, "Mrs. Corleone, the courier company just delivered something, saying it was specially sent to you."
"Really? Where is it?" Caitlin was a bit puzzled because she remembered she hadn't done any online shopping.
The receptionist handed the beautifully wrapped gift box to Caitlin, and Caitlin opened it.
Everyone was stunned when they saw what was inside the box.
"Oh my God, it's a diamond necklace!" someone exclaimed.
"My God, this diamond is huge!" someone tossed a shocked expression to the necklace.
"I remember now, I saw this necklace on TV. It's called Cullinan, and it's very expensive," someone added.
Caitlin was shocked and felt a sense of unreality.
The craftsmanship of the necklace was exquisite, and the diamond on it was as big as a fist, clearly worth a fortune.
She had heard of "Cullinan," which was a famous piece of jewelry made by several renowned artists, and there was only one in the world.
But now, someone had sent the Cullinan directly to Caitlin!
"Who do you think sent the Cullinan to Caitlin?" someone whispered.
"Could it be Steve?" someone asked.
"Bullshit, it can't be Leon. That poor guy definitely can't afford something so expensive." someone mocked.
Caitlin was very puzzled and curious about who would send her such an expensive gift. She didn't think of Leon at all because she knew he had no money, and she usually gave him some money.
Could it be that the Cullinan was really from Steve?
Thinking this, Caitlin felt very touched and a little shy.
On the other side, Leon drove his pickup truck to the parking lot of the party hotel. Just as he parked, he heard a car horn behind him.
"Hey, get out of the way. This isn't a place for pickup trucks!" A Mercedes stopped, and a man got out, speaking rudely to Leon.
Leon rolled down the window and looked at the man. The man was stunned when he saw Leon's face. "Leon?"
"Harold?" Leon recognized this man, he asked.
The man speaking was Harold Hamilton, a former classmate of Leon.
Harold recognized Leon but just sneered and parked his Mercedes before walking into the hotel.
Leon was a bit surprised by Harold's attitude. He got out of the car and walked into the hotel.
After entering a banquet hall, he found that all the classmates had arrived.
When Leon pushed the door open and entered, everyone turned to look at the door.
"Wow, Harold, it looks like you've been doing well these years," Someone complimented.
Then everyone noticed Leon walking behind Harold. Leon was also dressed nicely.
However, the classmates laughed and said, "Wow, Leon, it looks like you're doing well too. There are two seats left for you, come and sit down.
