My Sweetest

I remember the first time I ate cake. It tasted delicious and gave me a sensation I had never felt before. I closed my eyes and didn't want to swallow. I wanted to taste every single bite as long as possible. Throughout my childhood, I thought there wasn't a feeling like that until I got my first kiss from the one I had loved all my life.

When he slightly pressed his lips to mine, my entire body tensed. As he opened his mouth and his tongue slipped between my lips to meet mine, I felt goosebumps all over my skin.

We kissed for a long time, and when his eager hands traced my skin under my skirt, reaching my thong, and his two slander fingers caressed through the thin material, I felt like there was no better sensation in this world than this. Not even the most delicious cake made by the world's most famous master chef.

The feeling of need was as pleasant as it was forbidden. We grew up together, and I was supposed to love him as my sibling, but I couldn't. I had wanted this so badly for so many years and didn't want to stop it. Instead, I wanted to enjoy every second of being with him.

Eleven years ago

"Supper is ready, " my mum shouted. I put my old teddy bear on the sofa and entered the kitchen.

She takes a plate and puts a good amount of pasta on it.

"Do you want something on your pasta?" She asked me, and I shook my head.

I don't know why she has such a question when we both know there is nothing in the fridge that she could put in it. Even if it is only pasta without sauce, I am happy. This is one of the rare evenings my mum can give me something to eat. Usually, I go to sleep with an empty stomach, but this time, at least I can fill it with something so hunger won't torture me.

Mum gives me a fork, and I am happy to start eating. I am ready to have the food in my mouth when the door slams open. It scares me, so the fork, with a small amount of food on it, flies out of my hand and ends up on the floor. I don't know what hurt me more—seeing my dad storm into the room, obviously angry, or the precious food that got dirty on the floor.

"You dirty bitch*!" He shouts, and the smell of alcohol starts to linger in the air. "How dare you cheat on me? Is this what I keep you for? How dare you let another fuk you?" He moves closer, and seeing my mum's terrified face, I know what she wants me to do. I slip off the chair, and I hide under the table.

From the noises, I knew my father hit my mother. "Let me go! I don't want you anymore. I have found someone who will care for us!" she shouts. However, it seems like it only makes Dad furious.

"What? Do you think you can leave me?" He shouts louder, and he hits her again. But then my heart pounds faster when the tablecloth rises, and I see my father's red eyes. He forces me to get out of my hiding place.

"What the hell are you doing? Let her go!" Mum shouts, but instead of obeying her, Dad holds her arm as well.

"Where do you take us?" She asks, but this time, her expression shows fear.

"I will take you far from this place, where that bastard won't find you, " he shouts, and she drags us out. He puts me in his old car first, in the back seat, and then forces my mother to sit in the front. While he goes around, my mum turns back and tells me to move behind Dad's seat and fasten my seat belt. I do as she says, watching her take her phone out of her pocket and quickly write a message.

However, Dad is fast, and when he notices what Mum is doing, he hits the phone out of her hand. It ends up in the back seat next to me. I try to get it, but Dad hits the gas pedal, driving away fast, and the phone slips under the seat.

"Stop the car now!" My mum shouted at Dad, but he hit her again.

"Shut up, bich, or I will kick you out of the car on the freeway." He shouted at her while he lost control of the car for a moment, and we hit a rubbish bin on the side of the road.

"Stop the car!" Mum shouts again. "You are drunk! You can't drive like this!"

However, it is like my dad doesn't hear her at all. I feel the car move faster, and as I am in fear, I try to reach Mum's phone, but because of the car's funny movements, it slips further.

"Where are you going? Are you mental?" My mum shouts again, but this time she is panicking. "We are heading to the freeway. Stop the car now!"

"Shut up, Bich!" My dad shouted at her again, and he hit her, this time harder.

I feel the car moving faster, and as Dad can't keep it straight, I hear other cars honking at us, and I fear as well. Once, I saw a movie about roller coasters. I was so excited that I asked Mum to take me to one. Mum said we had no money for that, but she promised to take me to one as soon as she got the money. Now that I fear the car's movements, I am thinking about telling Mum later to skip the idea because I lost interest in it.

Dad drives the car even faster, and my mum starts to cry. She begs him to stop on the side of the road and let us out, but Dad doesn't listen.

I attempted to get the phone again, but my arms were short enough to reach it. I know what could help me. Even if mum told me to fasten my seatbelt, and I am an obedient child, I think, now, in this horrid moment, I could be a hero if I got that phone. My hand moves to the clip, ready to undo it, when Dad loses control of the car. Mum screams while my dad tries to keep the car straight. Weirdly, he doesn't see the truck in the following line, which is trying to warn us by honking that we are getting too close.

"Fck!" Dad screams as well while our car gets closer to the truck, and it crashes into it.

I remember one time, on a TV show, they discussed gravity. That was the moment I experienced it. I guess.

The car flies in the air, but it must hit the ground. And it does. However, that isn't the end; as it rolls off the road, I feel the seatbelt make a wound on my shoulder, keeping me from moving freely in the car. However, I think I am too small for the belt to hold me, as once, when the vehicle was upside down while rolling, I slipped out of its defence. It takes so long for the car to stop, but it does eventually. I feel an awful pain in my leg while I lie on the floor between the back and the front seats.

"Mummy!" I called my one parent who always cared about me, but there was no answer. Both my dad and mum are quiet. Since we left home, I wanted to be silent, but I didn't mean this silence.
