Chapter 10 Is He Really the Biological Son?

The mansion was a dazzling display of opulence, with crystal chandeliers, priceless oil paintings, and antique decorations, each piece worth a fortune.

Harry was overwhelmed by the splendor, silently marveling at the wealth of the Knight family.

“Dad, am I really your biological son?” Harry suddenly stopped in his tracks and looked up at Alaric, his eyes filled with doubt.

Alaric was taken aback; he hadn’t expected his son to ask such a question out of the blue.

He crouched down to meet Harry’s gaze, patiently explaining,“Of course you are. You’re my only son.”

“Then why did I run away from home?” Harry pressed on, determined to uncover the truth about his past to better complete his mission.

Alaric’s expression turned grim slightly. He took a deep breath, trying to keep his voice calm.“The reason you ran away…”

He hesitated, not wanting his son to recall that painful period or the existence of Orion. So he made up a lie.“You were being picky about food. I scolded you a bit and you ran off in a fit of anger.”

Harry pursed his lips, clearly not buying the flimsy excuse.

As a prodigy in cryptography, he wasn’t easily fooled by such a weak story.

“What about Grandma? I want to see Grandma.”

Harry made another request, knowing that Marigold, the matriarch of the Knight family, was a key figure in the whole affair.

“Your grandma is on vacation abroad. I’ll take you to see her when she gets back,” Alaric replied, not wanting his son to meet Marigold just yet, fearing it might trigger some memories and cause a scene.

“And what about Mom? I want to see Mom,”Harry continued.

Alaric’s brow furrowed. The last person he wanted to mention was Orion.

He pulled out his phone and dialed Orion’s number, his tone cold. “Caspian is back. He wants to see you. Come here immediately.”

On the other end, Orion’s voice was filled with surprise and irritation.“What? He’s back? Wasn’t he missing?”

“He has amnesia and doesn’t remember anything. Come back and play the role of a good mother. If you don’t want to come back, then don’t bother coming back at all,” Alaric’s voice carried a threat.

“Got it,”Orion replied through gritted teeth. She wished Caspian would disappear forever, but for the sake of her position, she had to pretend to cooperate.

Hanging up, Alaric turned to Harry.“Your mom is filming a movie. She’ll be back soon.”

“Okay.”

Harry nodded, knowing that Orion wasn’t his biological mother and having no expectations of her.

Dinner time arrived, and the table was laden with a feast of abalone, lobster, shark fin, and bird’s nest soup, among other delicacies.

Harry looked at the extravagant spread and couldn’t help but exclaim,“This is utterly excessive."

“Mr. Caspian Knight, these are all your favorite dishes,” Joe said with a smile.

“My favorite?”Harry pointed to himself, incredulous.

Harry had lived abroad with his mom and Elisa, never experiencing such luxury.

“Yes, Mr. Caspian Knight, you used to love these,”Joe reminisced.

“Waste is shameful!” Harry suddenly said sternly, “There’s no way I can finish all this by myself. Don’t be so wasteful in the future.”

Joe and Alaric were stunned. They hadn’t expected the amnesiac Caspian to say something like that.

“Why don’t you all sit down and eat with me?”Harry pointed to the chairs around the table, addressing Joe and the other servants.

“That's against the rules,”Joe said awkwardly. The Knight family had strict rules, and servants weren’t allowed to dine with the family.

"I make the rules now!" Harry declared with commanding authority. "From this point forward, you shall all dine alongside me!"

Alaric looked at his son, his eyes filled with complex emotions. He realized that his son, despite the amnesia, seemed more mature and assertive.

“By the way, Dad, I want to invite my friend over. Is that okay?” Harry suddenly remembered Elisa and wanted her to experience the Knight family’s lifestyle.

Alaric was taken aback.“A friend?”

He recalled that Caspian hadn’t had any friends before he went missing.

“Yes, my good friend,”Harry explained.

Alaric was puzzled, unsure if his son was telling the truth. But he nodded. “Sure, when do you want to bring them over? Let the servants know in advance so they can prepare.”

Meanwhile, Orion was in her dressing room, removing her makeup. After receiving Alaric’s call, she angrily threw her makeup products.

"Damn that Caspian, he's actually returned! And he's suffering from amnesia? How conveniently fortunate for him!" Orion muttered through clenched teeth, seething with resentment.

Her assistant tried to console her.“Ms. Nash, don’t be upset. Mr. Knight wants you to come back and bond with Caspian. This is a good opportunity for you.”

“A good opportunity?” Orion sneered. “I couldn’t care less about that little brat! I’m going back for the position of Mrs. Knight!”

She was plotting to take full control of the Knight family and then kick Caspian out. She wanted everyone to know that she was the only mistress of the Knight family.

As night fell, the Knight Mansion was brightly lit.

Harry stood by the window, looking out at the night view, filled with anticipation.

“Caspian, look, I got you a new toy,” Orion’s voice came from the doorway, laced with forced warmth.

Harry looked up to see Orion walking gracefully towards him, holding a limited-edition Transformer model.

“Wow, cool!” Harry feigned excitement, inwardly criticizing her poor acting.

Orion knelt down in front of Harry, handing him the toy.“Do you like it?”

“I love it!”Harry took the toy, his eyes fixed on Orion’s face, trying to read her expression.

Orion’s face wore a perfect smile, but Harry sensed something hidden behind it.

“Caspian, does your head still hurt?” Orion reached out to touch Harry’s head, but he deftly avoided her.

“It doesn’t hurt anymore,”Harry said.

Orion’s hand froze mid-air, a flash of displeasure crossing her eyes before she quickly resumed her smile.“That’s good. I was worried about yous before.”

Alaric watched from the side, feeling that their interaction was harmonious enough, and he relaxed a bit.

"Alaric, I would like to stay and keep Caspian company tonight," Orion said, turning toward Alaric with a pleading tone in his voice.
