Chapter 116

Scarlett’s POV

"Alex, you..."

I frantically pulled my remaining coverings tighter around me.

Alexander's lips curved in that infuriating, teasing smile.

He reached for my arm. "Why so shy? I've seen every inch of you. What's there to hide?" Looking at the man with only a towel wrapped around his waist, I wanted nothing more than to hide under the massage table.

"Alexander, get off me!"

I hissed through clenched teeth, keeping my voice as low as possible, terrified someone outside might hear.

He flashed a seductive smile. "Well, well. When you're comfortable, it's all 'Gray' and 'Alex' and 'darling.' Now you're turning on me and using my full name? I deserve better."

His hand slid up from my calf, lifting one of my legs.

The position was too humiliating, and I couldn't help but tense up.

If we were at Majestic Oak Villa, I wouldn't mind his antics.

But right now, we were on Richard's yacht, where his spies could be lurking in every corner.

This behavior was practically walking into a trap.

"Darling, please. Once we're off this boat, I'll do whatever you want!"

Steeling myself, I softened my voice and surrendered.

Alexander raised an eyebrow. "You'll really do anything I want?"

I nodded firmly. "Yes!"

But he remained unmoved. "I want you now." He gazed down at me imperiously, disregarding my refusal and getting straight to the point.

Fortunately, this area was deserted. After a while of his ministrations, I had lost all capacity for thought, allowing him to take whatever he desired.

I don't know how much time passed before a sharp phone ring cut through the silence, jolting me back to reality.

Simultaneously, Camila's voice came from outside.

"Scarlett, are you in there?"

The sudden sound felt like a bucket of ice water over my head.

I pushed Alexander away in panic, but his arms held me firmly like steel.

The sound of the doorknob turning sent me nearly tumbling off the narrow massage table, saved only by Alexander's quick catch.

"Already exhausted?" His hand steadied my waist, preventing me from falling, his voice full of mockery.

Meanwhile, Camila's high heels clicked ever closer.

"Scarlett? Did you fall asleep?"

As Camila's hand reached for the curtain, my heart nearly leaped out of my throat.

In my moment of helplessness, Alexander directly pulled back the curtain.

"Mrs. Blair."

Alexander greeted her first, his tone languid.

"Alexander!" Surprise saturated Camila's voice.

I kept my body firmly hidden behind Alexander's tall frame.

Though I couldn't see her expression, she must have been shocked.

Alexander chuckled lightly. "Mrs. Blair, the way you're looking at me... if Casey found out, how would I survive?"

Even in this situation, he could joke so casually.

While I hid behind him, my heart racing so fast I could barely breathe.

Camila's voice broke the tension. "I didn't know you were here. I thought it was Scarlett. I'll look elsewhere..."

Alexander deliberately teased her further: "Are you sure you don't want to check? What if Miss Smith is right here?"

Behind him, I widened my eyes, wishing I could strangle him.

Although the massage room wasn't large—just four or five beds separated by curtains—if Camila insisted on checking, we would be completely exposed.

Camila, overwhelmed by Alexander's words, spoke with obvious discomfort: "Mr. Gray, stop scaring me. If you're really hiding someone, I couldn't explain that to Richard."

Alexander responded meaningfully: "Oh~ Then thank you, Mrs. Blair."

As Camila's footsteps gradually faded, my suspended heart finally settled, though my lower back remained tense with aching stiffness.

Alexander turned around, his fingers expertly massaging my lower back.

"When will you develop more courage?"

I met Alexander's deep ocean-blue eyes and put on a pitiful expression.

"I've always been timid about these things."

"Yes, but when it comes to wanting to 'kill' me, you're quite brave."

I immediately tensed, my body stiffening inch by inch as if facing a grave threat.

Alexander placed his hand on my neck, pressing against my throat.

In a low voice, he said, "Your Obsidian Palace has always trained brokers and pawns. Since when did you start with assassins? Expanding your business?"

His topic change was so abrupt that my mind went completely blank.

"Go ahead and pretend. Eventually, you'll tell me the truth yourself." I watched as Alexander pulled on his bathrobe, standing up to tie the belt around his waist.

Seeing him about to leave, I hurriedly wrapped the blanket around myself. Just as I was about to speak, the door opened again!

I clutched the blanket tightly around me, instinctively hiding behind Alexander.

He stood in front of me, his tall figure nearly blocking the entire doorway.

Without warning, Alexander suddenly reached out and yanked the curtain open.
